Cuba Mission Trips
Trip Overview:
A mission trip to Cuba is truly a life changing experience and unlike any other trip you will ever experience. Located just 90 miles off the coast of Florida, Cuba is a communist country and does not have good political relations with the United States. Cuba has been under a U.S. trade embargo since 1963 which has contributed to economic isolation and strained relations between the two countries. Religious activities are allowed in Cuba, but are closely monitored by their government. However, God is working in Cuba. New churches are springing up in homes across the island and people are hungry to hear the Gospel and receive a copy of the Bible.
God has opened many doors for MCM in Cuba over the last ten years. We are licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department to conduct religious work in Cuba and are able to fly directly from Miami, FL into Havana, Cuba. Additionally, MCM is able to obtain religious visas from the Cuban government, which gives us legal permission to do mission work, witness and preach in the churches and live with the pastor for the week.
Mission Work in Country:
MCM’s mission trip work in Cuba is focused on three areas –
- Teaching in Bible Institutes to train laymen to plant and lead new house churches.
- Working with Cuban pastors in their church field – preaching, encouraging, witnessing, disciplining.
- Establish a covenant partnership with your Cuban pastor/church host. Cuban Church Partnership Link
The great need in Cuba is leadership training and resources to begin and sustain the growing need for thousands of small house churches across the island. The Western Baptist Convention of Cuba has a seminary that graduates approximately 10 men each year, but the need for Cuban church planters and Bible study leaders is 100 times greater. Your trip to Cuba will help to meet the tremendous need for leaders in these house churches. This is the best use of God’s resources that we have found in the entire world. The people are open and receptive to our ministries there.
Food, Lodging & Transportation:
In a typical trip to Cuba will stay in a hotel in Havana on the day we arrive and the night before we leave. The other five nights you will stay in the home of a Cuban pastor. Staying in the pastor’s home, eating his food and living with his family gives you a feel for the life of a Cuban pastor and his struggles. This also provides you the opportunity to experience Cuba in a unique way. Further, it begins the process of establishing a covenant partnership between the U.S. pastor and his church and the Cuban pastor and his church.
Transportation in Cuba moves slowly, but you will quickly adapt. We will travel as a group in and around Havana. Most pastors have some form of automobile and will transport you in and around their town.

Dress Code:
Suggested Dress for Men:
- Khakis or dress pants are preferred.
- Shorts/Jeans/T-shirts may be worn in your host home, but not out.
- Shirts with a collar are to be worn outside of host home.
- A tie should be worn for Sunday morning service, but is optional for evening services.
Suggested Dress for Women:
- Modesty is expected for the dress of all women
- Although things are changing it is still best to wear dress/skirts in all church services
- Length should be knee length or longer.
- Pants may be worn during the day.

The Cuban New Testament Project
God has opened an unbelievable opportunity to spread His word throughout the entire island of Cuba. It is called the Cuban New Testament Project. The vision is to place a copy of the New Testament into the hand of every person in Cuba. MCM has established several key partnerships in Cuba who are committed to print and distribute a New Testament to every person in Cuba.
Cuba Church Partnership
All pastors who travel to Cuba are asked to establish a Partnership with a Cuban Church and help support their pastor. You can pay the annual salary of a Cuban pastor for only $180 per year. What a bargain!!!
A partnership with a Cuban church through MCM is not difficult and will be a great blessing to the Cuban pastor and church members. But, it will be an even greater blessing to your church. There are many ways you can assist a Cuban Church as a partner.
Take a look at Guidelines for Establishing a Covenant Partnership with a Cuban Church and begin earnestly praying about traveling to Cuba and forming a partnership with a sister church in Cuba.

Guyana Mission Trips
Guyana“Set like a gem in the crown of South America, nestled on the North-Eastern shoulder, defying the raging Atlantic Ocean, Guyana's many waterways reflect the source of it's name "The Land of Many Waters."
“Guyana was discovered in 1498 by the Europeans, its history; therefore stretches back a bit more than 500 years! Guyana's past is punctuated by battles fought and won, possessions lost and regained as the Spanish, French, Dutch and British wrangled for centuries to own this land.”
Guyana is the only English speaking church in South America. The people are very warm and friendly and their pace of life is slow and easy. The country is large with a small population of 750,000. Most of the citizens are of African and East Indian decent.
Guyana is bordered on the north by the Atlantic Ocean, on the east by Suriname, on the south by Brazil, and on the west by Brazil and Venezuela.
Trip Overview:
MCM has been taking mission teams to Guyana for 10 years and believe that it is like no other mission field in this area of the world. In some aspects you may think you are in India. Many of the people are blinded by the darkness of Hindu and Islam. There are many beautiful scenes in Guyana.
With rainforests, waterfalls, rice fields, and mountains, combined with the warmth of the Caribbean, Guyana is a amazing country to visit. But more importantly the precious people of Guyana need to know the saving power of Jesus Christ.
Teams will be involved in a variety of activities like: street evangelism, indoor and outdoor crusades, house to house ministries, medical clinics, schools youth outreach team and children’s ministries.
You would fly out of Miami into Georgetown and travel from there by bus or boat to the church destination.
It is English speaking, but with a strong dialect that is initially difficult to understand.
The work there is with small rural churches that need encouragement and structure to be more effective in evangelism and discipleship.
This trip is a great first time mission trip, and requires no prior experience overseas. There is a desperate need for preparation to coordinate the week (i.e. VBS planning, testimony, medical supplies, music and preaching).
Food, Lodging & Transportation:
We have three mission sites where we take our teams as they work in country:
- We travel by boat up the Esiquibo River to work in the city of Bartica
- New Amsterdam which is located on the Atlantic coast
- The town of Parika located just outside the capital city of Georgetown.
Accommodations, although somewhat primitive, are comfortable and adequate. Lodgings have bathrooms and showers. Depending on specific area and time of year mosquito nets are needed.
The local food is different from US cuisine. Because of the Indian influence, they use curry, rice, pork and chicken for nearly every dish. You will enjoy fresh local fruit almost every meal.
Transportation is slow. Expect to do a lot of walking. Often you will travel via van or a bus to the destination of ministry.
Dress Code:
Guyana has tropical weather which requires cool, loose fitting clothing, mosquito repellant and sunscreen.
Pack Smart – Consider the following:
- Climate of your assigned country
- Culture of your assigned country
- Your project assignment ( construction, revival services, backyard Bible Schools)
Guidelines for Dress
- Modest, rather than shocking and trendy clothing
- Comfortable, but not sloppy outfits
- Low-maintenance clothes in basic colors
- Washable fabrics, no dry clean only
Women
- no tank tops, no cropped tops which show stomach

- dresses for church services that are knee length
- shorts that are about 6 inches above the knee or longer
Men
- swimming trunks that fit properly
- no tank tops
- please avoid bringing ragged or extremely baggy pants
- jeans are not acceptable for evening services
Please be aware that you do not want to offend people before you ever open your mouth. We must be considerate of the culture and want to maintain a spirit of excellence in our dress that glorifies God and does not call attention to ourselves.

Uganda Mission Trips
Basic Uganda Facts In 1965 Uganda and South Korea were at about the same point on the developing nation scale, yet today South Korea is a strong, industrial nation, while Uganda is impoverished. The reason for this discrepancy rests clearly with poor post colonization leadership, the tyrant Idi Amin from 71 - 79, and a subsequent civil war. It is only since 1986 that Uganda has had opportunity to move forward again but by then, it had almost been driving back to the 1800s .

Trip Overview:
Our mission trips to Uganda are designed to give you hands on missionary life experience working with local native pastors in country. We often assist a church to do evangelism, basketball and youth ministry in the small town. The people are very open to the Gospel and receptive to our ministry.
A mission trip to Uganda typically lasts 10-12 days. We fly out of Atlanta through Washington D.C. and arrive in Entebbe, Uganda in approximately 18-20 hours.
This trip is an incredible African experience that will have an impact on you for the rest of your life.
Our trips are designed to encourage this church and reach out into the community to do evangelism and leave them with some new believers to begin there new walk with Christ.
Mission Work In Country:
We often lead youth camps, children’s day camps, medical clinics and
sports ministry.
We have constructed a basketball court in the center of the town on a previous mission trip.
We travel by foot to nearby villages and lead children’s ministry and share the gospel with village residents.
Food, Lodging & Transportation:
The team flies into Entebbe which is 1 hour from the capital city
Kampala. We then travel by bus to the city of Hoima which about 4 hours northwest of Kampala.
Hoima is not ‘on the way to anywhere’. It is one of the bigger towns in Uganda although it is very remote. It is home of the King of the Banyoro People.
The weather is tropical and beautiful year-round. They harvest tea, sugar cane and sorghum.
The food consists of lots of starch i.e. rice, potatoes, posho and millet. You will be served chicken and goat and beans. You will eat much tropical fruit.
Expect to walk to most locations for ministry. At times you will travel via a boda boda which is a taxi bike.
Lodging is very good for Uganda standards. You will stay in a hotel with rooms that each have a bathroom with shower and sleep 2 to 3 people.
