Preparing Your Personal Testimony

Write out your testimony.  Keep it concise and direct.

Bring several copies with you.

If going to a country that speaks another language this will help your translator.

Consider Structuring Your Testimony This Way:

      1. Introduce Yourself.
  • Share your name.
  • Where you live.
  • Your profession.
  • Why you came to their country.
      2. Describe your life before becoming a Christian.
  • What was it like to live without Christ?
  • Why did you need Jesus?
      3. Explain how you became a Christian.
  • Share your story of coming to Christ.
  • What was the turning point in your life?
      4. Relate what it means to be a Christian.
  • What was the impact of faith on your life?
      5. Share how he/she can come to know Christ and His salvation.
  • Use a tract if possible.
      6. Allow them to respond.
  • Provide an opportunity for them to make a decision for Christ.
  • Offer to pray with them.
