Giving
I Chronicles 29: 11-17
Throughout the Word of God we are told that God is the owner and man is the steward.
Psalms 50:10-12 says that all the animals and the forests are God's even the cattle on 1000 hills are His.
Haggai 2:8 says the silver and gold is His.
I Tim 6:7 - "For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we carry nothing out."
Matthew 25:29 - "For the man who uses well what he is given shall be givenmore."The bottom line is that God requires faithfulness from His children. Those who manage well will have an abundance. He is looking for individuals that He can entrust riches to dispense His way. We are conduits to channel His resources at His bidding. The purpose in giving is to glorify God in that sacred area of our life.
The following are steps to financial freedom:
Earn an honest living. Eph. 4:28, Proverbs 13:11
Honor the Lord. Proverbs 3:9 11 Cor. 8
Support the government. Mt. 22:21
Learn the discipline of Saving part. Proverbs 21:20
a. To provide for your family 1 Tim. 5:8
b. To give to the needy Eph. 4:28If you are laying aside so you can provide for yourself this often keeps you from admitting your need to God and seeing Him perform a miracle in your life. The word for what most do in this area is hoarding. We need to look at each thing or account that He has entrusted to our management as to our faithfulness concerning His direction and purpose.
Is there any possession you are managing that if God asks for it you would hesitate to release? If so, you have assumed more responsibility in management that He planned when He called you.
Giving is not only a responsibility but a means of expressing thanks to God for the many ways he has amply blessed us. As we approach the throne of grace, hopefully on a daily basis, spend some time with the Father thanking him for specific blessings He has bestowed on you. Ask Him how you can glorify HIM by giving out of your abundance. Seek His face and ask Him to show you where he wants you to be His instrument of blessing. On a personal note please do not take this message as a plea for money, our loving Heavenly Father is meeting all of our needs.
