Humility Checkup
Do I realize that God can get along without me and I can't get along without Him? Humility is not calling attention to my faults; it is not calling attention to myself at all. What about me?
Am I ever anxious for recognition?
Do I have inner joy at the success of another even when that success came at my expense?
Do I leave the "I" or "me" out of the conversation?
Do I willingly discard all my rights in grateful exchange for whatever privileges God might choose to give me?
Do I allow others to judge me incorrectly and leave the results in the hands of a just and sovereign God?
Am I available to work in the backstage of life, knowing the audience will never know I was there?
Do I have the quiet satisfaction that God has called me to be a man/woman of prayer, who may never be known for his/her spiritual accomplishments?
Do I share the peace from my heart or would I rather be sharing a piece of my mind?
Is my prayer list noted by the absence of personal interests?
Do I have a voice that is never heard above the crowd?
Am I willing not to share "what God has done for me" if in doing so it would call attention to me?
Paul found joy in a prison cell even when it meant the salvation of a guard (Acts 15:25). Do I find joy in suffering (personal expense) when it will bring salvation to another?
Can I fast, give, pray without anyone knowing but the Lord?
Do I keep quiet about my quiet time?
Will I give when it is not tax deductible?
Do I smile and say nothing when there is nothing to say?
Do I have a way of living that comes from dying?
Do I share the symptoms of my illness with no one but my doctor?
Am I a friend to someone who has nothing to offer me in return?
Am I thankful that God has made me and placed me where I am?
Can I worship God when God has just said no, to my request?
Do I have the attitude of never graduating from the school of a learner?
Can I go without saying "I told you so"?
