Lies vs. God's Promises
Sometimes I feel as though the devil throws a lot of curves at me. I know that he tempts us through the worlds philosophy, the flesh and his legions of demons. I know that he hates God, and was defeated at Calvary, but he seeks to destroy God's elect bringing down as many as possible. God wants us to experience abundant life while Satan wants us to live in fear and defeat. Peter Lord in his book Hearing God compares this pull and tug with listening to 2 different channels. Channel 1 is God's voice; Channel 2 is Satan's voice. We must learn to recognize when we are listening to the wrong channel (Satan's) and switch back to God's channel.
